Transportation In Luoyang

By Air:
Luoyang Airport is located 13km northwest of the city.It is Class Ⅱairport with best obstruction clearance criteria in China,covering the domestic and overseas airlines such as Luoyang to Hong Kong.Beijing.Shanghai.Qingdao.ChongqingShenzhen.and Guangzhou.There are shuttle buses between Luoyang Airport and the CAAC building behind the railway station, but they are not frequent, only available at departure and arrival times.
By Train:
Train is the most common way to travel to Luoyang, a major stop on the Lianyungang to Lanzhou Railway. Direct trains are available to Shanghai, Nanjing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Lanzhou, Beijing,Fuzhou,Xiamen,Hangzhou,Qingdao and Guangzhou. Luoyang Railway Station is located on the northern part of Luoyang city on the corner of Jiefang Road and Daonan Road. From the city center, the railway station is about 3km and can be reached in less than 10 minutes by taxi from most destination in Luoyang.
By Bus:
Five expressways including Lianyungang-Huocherlgand,Erlianhaote-Guangzhou,Zhengzhou-shaolintemple-Luoyang,Luoyang-Nanjing, etc.,and the cross of city ring expressway and trunk roads in southern mountain area.
The main bus station is located directly opposite the railway station. The square between the railway station and the bus station has become something of a center for travelers with many buses to tourist attractions and other provincial destinations. The express bus reaches Zhengzhou and Kaifeng in 2 hours and 3 hours respectively. Buses to Zhengzhou depart every 20 minutes. Buses to Shaolin Temple ?are available every 30 minutes. There are also coaches with hard sleepers to Xi'an, Wuhan, Taiyuan and Yantai.
By Taxi:
Luoyang has a large number of taxis which are more convenient and comfortable than buses. Taxis charge CNY6 for the first 2.5 kilometers, then CNY1 to CNY1.5 per kilometer afterwards. Waiting for five minutes costs an extra fee equal to the distance surcharge of one kilometer (about 0.6 mile).
